Media Manager, PPC
Job Description:
The Media Manager, PPC is proactive, organized, efficient, and a great communicator that provides creative and effective marketing solutions. This role helps assist the Associate Directors and Directors with clients’ digital business goals, including helping to plan, coordinate and direct all PPC campaigns, as well mentor and grow media buyers. Extensive experience needed in planning, buying, and reporting of paid search and PPC media is required. This person will be responsible for developing presentations, solving problems, analyzing research and anything else required to make our clients and agency successful.
The Media Manager, PPC will report to the Director of Media Investments and will play a key role in overseeing the planning and execution of client’s media efficiently and soundly, be the PPC resource for the agency and external clients, while also mentoring and developing junior buyers.
Responsibilities:
Work directly with the Director of Media Investments to help maintain ultimate accountability for the quality, strategy, and integrity of all PPC media plans/strategies/services delivered to clients, resulting in the cultivation of client loyalty and retention.
PPC expert with profound communication skills. This role will effectively interact with clients in a way that positively impacts the agency relationship, including formulation and presentation of new initiatives, long-range plans, tactics, budgets and timelines.
Up to date on all PPC practices across Google and Microsoft, including search, PMax, Demand Gen, Shopping, etc.
Adept at presenting PPC media strategy and execution – ability to clearly articulate how campaigns will achieve/surpass client’s media goals through keen expertise and attention to detail.
Expertise in analyzing program performance and KPIs (ex. ROAS, CTR, CPA, conversion rate)
Demonstrates strong critical thinking and analytical skills to identify important data points and strategic opportunities that will help drive client’s business goals
Continually seek a client-centric view in all strategic thinking, to be prepared/prepare the team for any possible client questions and put the best media buy forward.
Intimately understand the client’s business, industry, and competition.
Collaborates with planning/strategy team to research audiences and media mix, ensuring PPC channels are seamlessly integrated into media plan and buy presentations.
Continue day-to-day media responsibilities (QAs, search query reports, keyword/audience maintenance, weekly performance pulls, review and editing of ad creative/copy, review and analysis of web site performance metrics, and optimization of campaigns, etc.) while managing buyers/assistant buyers’ workload and continue to mentor and develop their skillsets.
Expert understanding of the buyer journey (discover, consider, evaluate, convert) and how Search and Social campaigns, ad groups, and keywords can align with each phase of the journey
Conduct PPC audits to identify weaknesses and opportunities for existing and prospective clients
Is passionate about emerging ad tech and industry trends, inclusive of the current AI landscape and how it pertains to paid Search.
Regularly bring new PPC opportunities to the internal teams and clients and provides POVs on various trends/efforts emerging in the marketplace.
Work under minimal supervision to track timelines and deliverables and manage resource allocation on assigned accounts.
Acts as the PPC expert and serves as a resource for the internal team and clients.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience managing PPC media campaigns at an agency or client in-house digital team.
Established expert in planning, executing, and optimizing PPC campaigns that drive results (Search, PMax, Demand Gen, etc.).
Proven track record of high achievement in opportunities requiring critical thinking skills and creativity.
Cross-team negotiation skills and superior communication skills.
Proficient with numbers and data – able to find and create efficiencies in work operations without losing effectiveness.
Ability to navigate and excel in various paid search/social platforms, adapting strategies for each channel.
Detail oriented with strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at once with deadlines.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; ability to understand and translate data into actionable insight and narrative.
Positive, “can-do” attitude – Must be proactive, resourceful, and solution-oriented.
Analytically minded, with the ability to interpret campaign performance while providing creative insights, reporting, and media solutions to meet campaign challenges.
